James was a imaginary friend of her mess of a sister Coco, who is played by Lauren Ambrose.
Coco's is a bohemian. Sarah is a suit. The two are estranged until Sarah's boyfriend leaves her for a man and she finds out that she's barren. Sarah reaches out to Coco for support and asks her to be the surrogate for her child.
