Jessica Baty was the ex-girlfriend of Steve Kazmierczak's, the 27-year-old who killed 5 people and wounded 18 at Northern Illinois University on February 14, 2008. Both Baty and Kazmierczak graduated from Northern Illinois University and attended graduate school together at the University of Illinois.
