  • Former member of Jesse James Hollywood's gang, Jesse Rugge is currently serving a life sentence in Pleasant Valley State Prison for his part in the August 2000 murder of Nicholas Markowitz. His petition for parole was denied in 2006.
  • Markowitz Murder

    Rugge was charged kidnapping and helping in the murder of Nicholas Markowitz. Rugge allegedly bound the hands and mouth of Markowitz prior to his death and also helped Ryan Hoyt bury the body. In September 2002 Rugge was sentenced to life in prison, with the eligibility of parole after seven years.
  • Film Adaptation

    He was the inspiration for Justin Timberlake's character Frankie "Nuts" Ballenbacher in the film Alpha Dog.
