Actor and comedian Jerry Stiller has been performing since the 1950s. In the 1960s and 1970s he performed with his wife Anne Meara in the popular comedy team Stiller and Meara. They appeared on several variety shows together including The Ed Sullivan Show.
The Comeback
Stiller's career was revived with the role of "Frank Costanza" on the sitcom Seinfeld in the 1990s. When the show ended in 1998, Stiller planned on retiring, but went ahead and joined the cast of the successful sitcom The King of Queens which a spin-off from Everybody Loves Raymond. Stiller played "Arthur Spooner" the father of "Carrie Heffernan" until the show ended in 2007.
