• Jerry Springer is a television personality and host of the talk show The Jerry Springer Show and celebrity dancer on season three of Dancing with the Stars. In 2007, Springer hosted America's Got Talent.
  • Early Life

    Springer was born in London, England, in 1944 to Jewish parents who were Nazi refugees. At the age of five, the family relocated to Queens, New York. As a child he became very interested in politics. His first political role was serving as political campaign aide to Robert F. Kennedy.
  • Politics

    Springer ran for Congress in 1970 and lost, then in 1971 he served on the city council of Cincinnati, Ohio. He remained on the council until 1974 after admitting he hired a prostitute. The next year he won by his seat and was elected by the city council to serve one term as mayor. In 1982 Springer tried to run for governor but did not win the Democratic party's nomination.
