  • Pharmacist Jerome Ersland was arrested in Oklahoma City on May 28, 2009, for the murder of 16-year-old Antwun Parker.     Ersland claims the shooting was in self-defense, which is permitted under Oklahoma law.   • Robbery and Shooting

    Ersland claims that on May 19, 2009, Parker and another male entered the Reliable Discount Pharmacy wearing ski masks, demanded cash and drugs and threatened the staff. Retrieving a pistol from under the counter, Ersland shot 16-year-old Parker in the head, knocking him unconscious on the floor of the drug store.   • Murder Charge

    After surveillance video of the incident was released, prosecutors filed first-degree murder charges against Ersland as they felt he was not justified in killing Parker.
