    Soon after becoming a professional fighter, Taylor dominated his competition. He soon earned a fight against Bernard Hopkins, who at the time, was rated the #1 "pound for pound" fighter in boxing. The two faced each other for the undisputed middleweight championship in 2005.     Taylor defeated Jeff Lacy on November 15, 2008 to become the number one contender for the WBC super middleweight title. Taylor will now face the winner of the fight between Jean Pascal and Carl Froch.
