Jeremy Lusk was a professional freestyle motocross cyclist. On February 9, 2009, Lusk died of injuries he sustained in a crash during an FMX competition in Costa Rica two days earlier. Lusk's Accident
Jeremy Lusk was taking part in the X-Knights competition in Costa Rica on Saturday, February 7, 2009, when he was seriously injured during a crash. Video of the accident clearly shows Lusk slamming hard into the dirt as he was attempting a "Hart Attack" backflip. Lusk sustained serious head trauma as a result of the accident, and underwent surgery to reduce swelling on his brain at a San Jose, Costa Rica, hospital. He died two days later of his injuries.
At the 2007 X Games, Lusk had a similar crash but walked away unharmed, but shaken. According to reports. Lusk said he did not attempt the "Hart Attack" backflip "for months" after the accident, saying "I was a little scared of it."ESPN: Lusk dies from crash-related injuries
