Jeremy Accardo is a right-handed pitcher in for the Toronto Blue Jays. After attending Illinois State University the San Francisco Giants signed Accardo as a undrafted amateur free agent in 2003. Making his MLB debut in 2005, Accardo appeared in 28 games for the Giants, posting a 3.94 ERA. In 2006, the Giants traded Accardo to the Blue Jays in exchange for Shea Hillenbrand and Vinnie Chulk. In 2007 Accardo assumed the role of closer for the Blue Jays, filling in for the injured B.J. Ryan. Accardo was effective in the role, collecting 30 saves with a 2.14 ERA. When Ryan returned from Tommy John Surgery, Accardo returned to his role as a middle reliever.
