  • Major League Baseball starting pitcher Jered Weaver currently plays for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

    Prior to his MLB career, Weaver attended the California State University, Long Beach. He was drafted by the Angels on June 7, 2004, in the 12 overall pick of the MLB Draft. He joined the Angels' minor league affiliate the following year.

    On May 27, 2006, Weaver was called up to make his MLB debut with the Angels. He played in 19 games his rookie season, pitching in 123 innings and finishing with a 2.56 ERA. Weaver spent the majority of the 2007 season with the Angels, pitching 28 games, 161 innings and finishing with a 3.91 ERA.

    Weaver also made his first post season appearance in 2007, where the Angels lost the American League Divisional Series to the eventual World Series Champion Boston Red Sox.

    He was also featured on the cover of the PlayStation game MVP 07 NCAA Baseball.
