Jennifer Lyon, a contestant on Survivor: Palau passed away from breast cancer on January 19, 2010. Jennifer was 37 at the time of her death. Jennifer found fame as contestant on the tenth season of the popular reality show, which aired in 2005. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, at the age of 33. She told People Magazine at the time that she first felt a lump in her breast in 2004, but didn't seek treatment as she thought it was related to her breast implants. After her diagnosis, Jennifer, or Jenn as she was known to friends, underwent a double mastectomy as well as chemotherapy. Jennifer Lyon was best known for her stint on the reality show Survivor during the show's tenth season in Palau. She ended up one of the last four contestants, and was eliminated during a fire-building challenge after the Tribal Vote ended up with her and another contestant, Ian Rosenberger, tied for elimination. After Survivor, Jenn returned to Los Angeles, where she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She spent the remaining five years of her life raising awareness and money for breast cancer related organizations as well as struggling to survive her own battle with the disease.
