Hewitt began her acting career at a young age, her first role came when she was ten years old, as she debuted on the Disney TV show Kids Incorporated. She bounced round between various television shows before advancing her career on the show Party of Five. Her performance on that show helped Hewitt land larger roles. She would become the lead actress in the film I Know What You Did Last Summer In 1999, Hewitt landed a role on the television series The Time of Your Life. After holding that role for three years Hewitt again appeared in a few films, including Garfield.
