New Zealand-born Jemaine Clement is an actor, musician and one-half of folk-comedy duo Flight of the Conchords. Clement met his Conchords' partner Bret McKenzie in 1998 at the Victoria University of Wellington. The two garnered international attention following their 2003 Edinburgh Fringe Festival performance. In 2007, the duo's self-titled HBO series premiered, and in 2008, they released their first stateside full-length album on Sub Pop Records.
Outside of the Conchords, Clement is part of sketch comedy duo Humourbeasts with Taika Cohen, who wrote and directed the film Eagle vs Shark, which Clement starred in.
