Jello Biafra is an American hardcore punk musician, spoken word artist and political activist who began his career as the lead singer of the Dead Kennedys.VH1: Jello Biafra Biography

Biafra was born in Colorado; his father was a social worker, his mother a librarian. During the seventies he became an activist. In 1979 Jello Biafra and his Dead Kennedy's band mate East Bay Ray formed the independent record company Alternative Tentacles in order to produce their single California Uber Alles.
