  • Major League Baseball starting pitcher Jeff Suppan currently plays for the Milwaukee Brewers.

    Suppan was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox on June 3, 1993, right out of high school. After spending hist first couple seasons with the Red Sox' minor league affiliates, Suppan was called up to make his MLB debut on July 17, 1995.

    He split his first three seasons between the majors and the minors, playing just 39 games total with the Red Sox between 1995 and 1997. On November 18, 1997, he was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the expansion draft. He played just 13 games with the Diamondbacks in 1998, before his contract was purchased by the Kansas City Royals on September 3, 1998.

    Suppan continued with the Royals through the 2002 season, before entering free agency. He signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates on January 31, 2003. He played just 21 games with the Pirates, then was traded to the Boston Red Sox on July 31, 2003.

    Following the 2003 season, Suppan signed with the St. Louis Cardinals on December 18, 2003. In 2004, Suppan made his first post season appearance, when the Cardinals lost the World Series to the Boston Red Sox. Suppan and the Cardinals returned to the World Series in 2006, this time beating out the Detroit Tigers for the title.

    On December 24, 2006, Suppan signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. He is currently on the full roster for the 2008 regular season.
