    Reed was cited with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief on February 14, 2009, at a Pennsylvania gas station.   • Football Career

    Prior to his NFL career, Reed attended the University of North Carolina. He played for the North Carolina Tar Heels, where he set a school record for 66 consecutive extra points (PATs). His senior year he was also a finalist for the Lou Groza Award, given to the top college football kicker.

    After college, Reed signed as an undrafted free agent on April 23, 2002, with the New Orleans Saints, but was quickly released. On November 19, 2002, he signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He made his NFL debut the same year with the Steelers.

    One of his most notable games was the 2005 AFC Divisional Playoff game, where the Steelers faced the New York Jets. Reed kicked the game winning field goal in overtime to give the Steelers the win. Reed also joined the Steelers in their 2006 Super Bowl win, where he kicked three field goals and four PATs.
