Quotes
- "I sell a complete package...a life style that's in harmony with and exemplified by the exterior and interior living space. I believe in finding the true integrity of a house, then breathing life back into it in a way that connects with a certain type of buyer."—Jeff LewisBravo: Jeff Lewis Biography
- "Sometimes all it takes for a show to work is one good character, and that's even more the case when it's a real person and that person and the life he lives are of another world. Jeff Lewis, the real-life obsessive-compulsive control-freak star of the new Bravo series Flipping Out, is that character. Intermittently arrogant, cutthroat and self-doubting, Lewis would seem unbelievable if he didn't actually exist."—Media Life Media Life: Flipping Out Delightful Drama Queen (August 7, 2007)
Flipped Out
- When one of Jeff Lewis' Flipping Out renovation projects allegedly encroached on a neighbor's property in Los Feliz, CA, litigation ensued. In December 2008, Ugly Betty actress, Ashley Jensen and her husband, Terence Beesley, filed a lawsuit against Lewis claiming Lewis built a deck which encroached on their property. Lewis made "aggressive threats" when they refused a private monetary settlement. A temporary restraining order was issued against Lewis in which he is ordered to stay at least 50 feet away from Jensen's property and to "not harass, assault or trespass on the property." Ryan Brown, Lewis' business partner and Flipping Out co-star, was also named in the lawsuit.EOnline: Jeff Lewis Flips Out on Ugly Betty Star (December 12, 2008)
Lewis responded to the lawsuit, "simple encroachment dispute that should have been resolved informally. Having apparently watched my reality show, they now feel they can exploit my personality to increase their media exposure and their alleged damages.I have never threatened either of them with physical harm, nor was I abusive or verbally threatening to either of them. In fact I have never even met Ms. Jensen. The court will decide how much the easement is worth and Ms. Jensen and Mr. Beesley will then be left having to earn media coverage on their talent alone."EOnline: Jeff Lewis Flips Out on Ugly Betty Star (December 12, 2008)
Lewis is scheduled to appear in court regarding the restraining order on January 9, 2009.EOnline: Jeff Lewis Flips Out on Ugly Betty Star (December 12, 2008)
