Pittsburgh native Jeff Goldblum began his acting career in the mid-1970's. He studied acting at the New York City Neighborhood Playhouse.
On June 25, 2009, shortly after the deaths of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson were announced, new rumors cropped up on the Internet that Goldblum had also died. He reportedly was killed by a fall, while filming in New Zealand. The rumors were not true, and were denied by Goldblum's agent, who stated that Goldblum was safe and in Los Angeles. Goldblum later appeared in Central Park to watch Anne Hathaway perform in Twelfth Night.http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/dailydish/category?blogid=7&cat=2902
