Canadian professional hockey player Jeff Friesen played in the National Hockey League from 1994 to 2007. He attended the San Jose Sharks training camp in 2008, but as of October 9, 2008, has not been offered a contract to return to the team.
NHL Career
Friesen was drafted 11th overall in the 1994 NHL draft by the San Jose Sharks. He made his NHL debut that same year and played with the Sharks until March 5, 2001, when he was traded to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Friesen played just over one season with the Mighty Ducks before he was sent to the New Jersey Devils on July 6, 2002. Friesen helped the Devils win the Stanley Cup Championship in 2003 and played one additional season before he was sent to the Washington Capitals on September 26, 2005. He played only 33 games with the Capitals, then was sent back to the Mighty Ducks on March 9, 2006. Friesen completed the 2005-06 season with the Ducks and signed a one-year contract with the Calgary Flames on[July 5, 2006.
