Jeff Francis is a left-handed pitcher for the Colorado Rockies. A native of British Columbia, Francis was selected by the Rockies in the 1st round of the 2002 amateur draft. After just two years as a minor league pithing prospect in the Rockies farm system, Francis made his major league debut on August 25, 2004. 2005 would be Francis' first full year in the majors, he posted a 14-12 record, with a 5.68 ERA, 117 strikeouts, and finished 6th in Rookie of the Year voting.
Strengths
Francis throws a 90+ mph fastball, and a very good curve. He has excellent mechanics, and terrific control of his pitches[1].
Weaknesses
Francis' stamina is questionable[1].
