Jeff Carter

  • Center Jeff Carter was drafted 11th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round of the 2003 National Hockey League entry draft. He joined the Flyers American Hockey League affiliate team, the Philadelphia Phantoms, for their playoff run in 2004 and 2005. During the 2005 Calder Cup playoffs, Carter led both the team and the league in post-season scoring, earning 23 points in 21 games.

    Carter represented Canada in the World Junior Championships in both 2004 and 2005, when they won silver and gold respectively. During his last season with his junior team, Carter received the most sportsmanlike player award from both the Ontario Hockey League and the Canadian Hockey League.

    Carter joined the Flyers for the 2005-2006 and scored his first NHL goal on October 24, 2005. He earned 42 points in 81 games during his rookie season and has played an important role on the Flyers' offensive line since.
