  • NHL Career

    Ortmeyer entered the NHL by signing as a free agent with the New York Rangers on May 10, 2003. He made his NHL debut that same year and played 58 regular season games with the Rangers during the 2003-04 season. He played in the American Hockey League, with the Hartford Wolf Pack, during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout. Ortmeyer returned to the Rangers for the 2005-06 regular season. He was sidelined for five months starting in August of 2006, after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. He returned to the team in January, 2007, completed the season with the Rangers, then signed as a free agent with the Nashville Predators on July 2, 2007.
