Republican John Ellis "Jeb" Bush is the former governor of the state of Florida, the brother of President George W. Bush and the son of former president George H. W. Bush. During his term as governor, Bush advocated educational reform in Florida schools, instituting standardized testing for the state of Florida and distance-learning programs. Bush also was involved in the Terri Schiavo controversy; he fell on the side of trying to prevent the removal of her feeding tube through legislation later deemed unconstitutional. He is on the record as pro-life on abortion issues.
