Jay-Z Beyonce Wedding

American hip-hop power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles got married on Friday April 4, 2008 in a private ceremony at Jay-Z's New York apartment, according to People Magazine. The intimate ceremony was followed by a lavish party attended by family and close friends. The newlyweds' first dance was to the first of their six collaborations, the 2003 hit "Crazy in Love."

Jay-Z and Beyonce secured a marriage license on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, which was believed by some to be an April Fools' Day joke at the time. Jay-Z was reportedly given a bachelor party earlier in the week in Toronto, Canada.

The couple, who have always been private about their relationship, had yet to comment on the rumored marriage as of April 8, 2008, but Jay-Z has reportedly accepted, and not denied, congratulations from well-wishers.
