Rapper Jay-Z and singer Alicia Keys performed the song "Empire State of Mind" during game two of the 2009 World Series on October 29, 2009. Jay-Z took the stage at the new Yankee Stadium wearing a Yankees cap and jacket. Band members were also decked out in Yankees jerseys. Keys began the song behind the piano but eventually joined Jay-Z center stage. The performance, as expected, received enthusiastic applause and cheers.
