Jason York

  • Canadian professional hockey player Jason York played 13 seasons in the National Hockey League, most recently with the Boston Bruins.
  • NHL Career

    York was drafted 129th overall in the 1990 NHL draft by the Detroit Red Wings. He was assigned to the Wings' American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Red Wings, in 1991 before making his NHL debut with the Detroit Red Wings in 1992. He spent most of his first few seasons in the AHL, then was traded to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on April 4, 1995. Just over one season later, York was traded again, this time to the Ottawa Senators on October 1, 1996. York returned to the Mighty Ducks as a free agent in 2001 and continued with the team until October 23, 2002, when he was sent to the Nashville Predators. York did not play during the 2004-05 NHL lockout, then joined the HC Lugano in Switzerland for the 2005-06 season. On July 21, 2006, York signed a one year contract with the Boston Bruins.
