  • Career Highlights

    Jason Williams began his career with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League in 1996. In 2000, Williams signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Red Wings. He made his NHL debut the same year, but spent the majority of his time in the American Hockey League with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. In 2002, Williams played with the Wings as they won the Stanley Cup Championship. He played in Finland during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout with Assat in the SM-Liiga. Williams returned to the Wings after the lockout, playing 80 of 82 regular season games. He was sidelined for four games after a November 8, 2006 hit by Raffi Torres left him with a concussion and facial lacerations. Just a few months later Williams was traded at the NHL trade deadline. He went to the Chicago Blackhawks on February 26, 2007 as part of a three team trade. After the 2007-08 season, Williams signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Thrashers.
