Canadian professional hockey player Jason Ward plays with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League.
NHL Career
Ward was drafted 11th overall in the 1997 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He joined the Canadiens for his NHL debut in 1999 and split his first few seasons between the Canadiens and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Quebec Citadelles. He continued with the Canadiens until the 2004-05 NHL lockout, when he played for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL. On August 4, 2005, Ward signed as a free agent with the New York Rangers. Just short of two seasons later, the Rangers traded him to the Los Angeles Kings on February 5, 2007.
