Jason Segel

Writer and actor Jason Segel has appeared in several films and television shows and is a regular in the Judd Apatow film franchise. He plays the role of "Marshall" on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

Segel, along with fellow comedic Apatowian actors Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Jonah Hill, appear in the latest issue of Vanity Fair in a photo spread that spoofs the famous Vanity Fair cover featuring designer Tom Ford alongside nude actresses Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson. Segal is a recurring character on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother and appeared in three episodes of the popular crime drama CSI in 2004 and 2005.

Prior to his mainstream film roles, Segel co-starred in the Judd Apatow television shows Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared with good friend Seth Rogen. He starred in the 2006 hit film Knocked Up before rejoining the franchise as writer and actor in the 2008 comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Segel has commented that Forgetting Sarah Marshall is based on a real life "in the nude" breakup he experienced years ago. Segel recreated that moment in the film, including the full frontal nudity. Segel is also a writer and actor in the 2009 Apatow film Five Year Engagement.

In early March 2008, Segel announced that he would be working with Disney to co-write the upcoming untitled Muppet movie. He is also slated to star in the 2009 film I Love You Man that follows a man searching for the perfect best man for his wedding.
