Jason Dior Maxiell was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 18, 1983. He attended Newman Smith High School in Texas. He continued his education at the University of Cincinnati. 2009 - 2010 Season
During the 2009 - 10 season, Maxiell again saw his game total drop. However, he started in a career-high 29 games for the Pistons. Maxiell averaged 6.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 20.4 minutes in 76 games. He was ranked among the top 10 inconsistent players by analysts.
Maxiell's best game came in a 112 to 99 loss against the Atlanta Hawks on March 13. He scored a season-high 19 points and gathered 12 rebounds in 33 minutes during the losing effort.
Maxiell's season-high 16 rebounds helped the Pistons beat the Houston Rockets 110 to 107 on March 7
