American swimmer Jason Lezak participated in his third Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008. Lezak was the anchor of the men's 4x100-meter freestyle relay team, which took the gold medal on August 11, 2008. Lezak is credited with a great comeback in the race, overtaking France's Alain Bernard on the final lap to give his team the win.
Lezak also won a bronze medal in the 100-meter freestyle event and anchored the 4x100-meter medley relay, helping teammate Michael Phelps win his eighth gold medal of the 2008 Summer Games.
