Before Jason Lee became an actor, he was a professional skateboarder. Lee was so dedicated to the sport that he ultimately opened his own skate board company called Stereo Skateboards.

In July 2009, Jason Lee was involved in a New York City bar brawl at a downtown Manhattan venue, Max Fish when he became involved in a heated shoving match with an unnamed reveler, New York News.

According to Hollyscoop, Lee confirmed to the Sydney Sun-Herald on November 23, 2008, that he and Ceren Alkac had secretly married. The couple tied the knot in July 2008. Lee plays Earl Hickey on the NBC sitcom My Name is Earl. Earl is a small time con man and crook who tries to turn his life around once he discovers the power of karma. He makes a list of all the wrongs he has done to people in his life, and with the help of his brother Randy (played by Ethan Suplee), he tries to correct his mistakes.
