  • Early Life

    Jason Frederick Kidd was born in San Francisco, California, on March 23, 1973. He attended High School at St. Joseph Notre Dame High School where he led the team to two state championships. He then attended the University of California, Berkeley. In his first season with the Cal Bears he led the team to the Sweet Sixteen. He would enjoy another productive year winning Pac-10 player of the year and First Team All-American.
  • Pro Career

    Jason Kidd is widely considered one of the best point guards in the NBA. He is a consistent triple double threat and as of 2008 has been elected to the NBA All-Star Game nine times.

    With the second pick in the 1994 NBA draft Kidd was selected by the Dallas Mavericks. He would go on to lead the league in triple doubles and winning the 1995 NBA Rookie of the Year Award, sharing the honor with Grant Hill. In 1996, Kidd was traded to the Phoenix Suns, then again in 2001 to the New Jersey Nets. He would lead the Nets to two straight NBA Finals appearances in 2002 and 2003. On February 13, 2008 Kidd was traded along with Malik Allen and Antoine Wright to the Dallas Mavericks for Devin Harris, Trenton Hassell, Keith Van Horn, Desagana Diop and Maurice Ager.

    On March 1, 2009, Kidd recorded 15 assists in a win over the Toronto Raptors. That brought his career total for assists to 10,002, becoming the fourth NBA player in the history of the league to top 10,000 assists.ESPN.com: Kidd is Fourth Player with 10,000 Assists
