Early Life
Jason Kapono was born in Long Beach, California on February 4, 1981. He attended high school at Artesia in California. He continued his education at the University of California, Los Angeles. In his first season with the Cavs, Kapono averaged 3.4 points per game. In 2004, he was selected in the expansion draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. He was then traded to the Miami Heat in 2005.
