Swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore went missing in mid-August of 2009. Her mutilated body was discovered in a suitcase inside a dumpster in Buena Park, California, on August 15, 2009. Authorities launched a search for a "person of interest" in the case: 32-year-old Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a contestant on the VH1 reality show Megan Wants a Millionaire. Reports said Ryan Jenkins reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff's station that his wife, Jasmine Fiore, was missing on August 15, 2009. Jenkins said his wife had "perfect teeth" when asked to describe her.
