Jasmina Anema is a six-year-old girl who was diagnosed from a rare form of Leukemia, called NK cell leukemia, on January 20, 2009. In March 2009, doctors said Anema may not survive if she does not receive a bone-marrow transplant. A bone-marrow match would likely come from an African-American. Anema has no siblings and is adopted. A donor drive will be held on March 7, 2009, at Anema's grade school in New York City.NY Daily News: Little girl fighting rare and deadly leukemia needs your help (March 4, 2009)
