  • Jarrod Washburn is a Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher for the Seattle Mariners. Washburn was drafted by the Anaheim Angels and would be the staff ace during the Angels 2002 World Series run. That season he would win 18 games and be the starting pitcher for the Angels in game one of the World Series against the San Francisco Giants. In 2005, he signed as a free agent with the Seattle Mariners. In his years with Seattle, he has provided solid, yet unspectacular numbers, and has been unable to establish himself as the staff ace. Born and raised in Wisconsin, in the off-season he still calls the state home with his wife and children.

    Jarrod Michael Washburn was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 13, 1974. He would attend the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he would help lead the baseball team to the 1994 Division III World Series title.
  • Pro Career

    Washburn would be selected by the California Angels in the second round of the 1995 Major League baseball draft. He would then make his Major League debut on June 2, 1998 with the Anaheim Angels. He would develop into the staff ace and in 2002 help the Angels to it's first ever World Series Title with an 18 Win season and an earned run average of 3.15. In 2005, Washburn would become a free agent, and sign with the Angels rival Seattle Mariners.
