  • NHL Career

Stoll was originally drafted by the Calgary Flames during the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, but was unable to reach a contract agreement with the team. He reentered the draft and was selected 36nd overall by the Edmonton Oilers during the second round of the 2002 draft. He played four games for the Oilers during the 2002-2003 season and spent the rest with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs.

He was a regular member of the Oiler's lineup for the 2003-2004 season and then spent another year in the AHL during the NHL's locked out 2004-2005 season. The following season, Stoll was back with the Oilers to record a career high of 78 points in 82 regular season and 24 post season games as the Oilers went to the final game of the Stanley Cup playoffs before losing the championship to the Carolina Hurricanes.

An injury limited Stoll's play to 51 games during the 2006-2007 season, but he still managed to score 39 points. At the outset of the following season, Stoll was named one of the team's alternate captains.

In June, 2008, Stoll was traded to the Los Angeles Kings, ultimately signing a four-year, $14.4 million contract.TSN: Kings Agree to a Four-Year Contract With Stoll (September 4, 2008)
