• Jared Hess is an American film producer, director and writer. He co-wrote the films Napoleon Dynamite, and the upcoming Gentlemen Broncos with his wife Jerusha. The couple also co-wrote Nacho Libre with fellow director and actor Mike White.

• Napoleon Dynamite

  Before Napoleon Dynamite was made into a full-length feature film, Hess used the characters in a short-film titled Peluca. The short, which was featured at Slamdance Film Festival, was based on characters from his hometown of Preston, Idaho. The only major difference between the two films is that Jon Heder's character is named Seth, instead of Napoleon Dynamite, and the Pedro Sanchez character is named Giel.YouTube: 'Peluca'(Time 8:46)
