Early Life and Career
Jann Wenner was born in New York City in 1946. After graduating from the Chadwick School in 1964 he attended the University of California at Berkeley. He dropped out of Berkeley in 1966 and co-founded Rolling Stone a year later with his mentor, Ralph J. Gleason.
Today, Rolling Stone is a major music and lifestyle publication. In 2006, the magazine published it's 1000th issue and was selling a reported 1.5 million copies every two weeks.Washington Post: How Does It Feel?
