Jane Froman

Jane Froman was a very talented singer and stage actress. She also hosted her own television show called The Jane Froman Show. In 1943, she was involved in a terrible plane crash which came close to severing her leg. Over the next three years, she underwent thirty nine surgeries, not wanting to amputate. She wore a leg brace for the remainder of her life. In 1980, she died of cardiac arrest due to chronic heart and lung disease.
