Jamie Lee Curtis is an American film and television actress and a best selling author. She was born on November 22, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. Curtis starred in many horror films early in her career such as Halloween, Prom Night, Terror Train and The Fog.
September 9, 2008, Curtis appeared on The View to promote her new book, Big Words For Little People. This book is her eighth children's book published and teaches kids how to communicate in the adult world.The View: Jamie Lee Curtis
Personal
Curtis is the daughter of actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She is married to actor Christopher Guest, also known as Lord Haden-Guest. As the wife of a Lord, Curtis' official title is Lady Haden-Guest but she doesn't go by that title when in the US. Curtis and Guest have two adopted children, Anne and Thomas Haden Guest.
Film Career
Curtis made her film debut with the horror movie Halloween. She played in the film Trading Places in 1983. From there, she starred in True Lies in which she won a Golden Globe Award. More recently she has starred in the films Freaky Friday and South of the Border.
Children's Books
Along with acting, Curtis has found success in writing children's books. She began her writing career with the 1993 release of her first book When I was Little: A Four-Year Old's Memoir Of Her Youth. She went on to write six more books. The most recent book is titled Is There Really A Human Race? written in 2006.
