Jamie Bell is an English actor. He was born on March 14, 1986, in Stockton on Tees, England.

Early Life
Bell's father left shortly after his birth, leaving his mother, Eileen, to raise Bell and his older sister. Bell began ballet at the age of six and became interested in acting at the age of nine. He attended the Stagecoach Theatre School and the National Youth Music Theatre, where he studied acting.
Acting Career
Bell made his film debut with the movie Billy Elliot in 2000. In 2002, he acted in Nicholas Nickleby and Deathwatch. His more recent works include Undertow, Dear Wendy, The Chumscrubber, King Kong, Flags of Our Fathers, Hallam Foe and Jumper. His current film Defiance opened in U.S. theaters on January 16, 2009.
