James Ward was a restaurant critic in his native Chicago, Illinois, for many years. On February 26, 2009, Ward died after a prolonged illness. He was 76 years old. Ward worked as a food critic for Chicago's ABC affiliate, WLS Channel-7, before retiring in 2005.
