Monroe Doctrine
In an important moment in the history of American foreign policy, Monroe declared America's neutrality in wars involving European countries and their colonies with the Monroe Doctrine. The doctrine also stated that European powers could no longer attempt to colonize or meddle in the affairs of independent American nations. -
