  • James Laurinaitis was a starting middle linebacker for the Ohio State Buckeyes of the NCAA.

    Laurinaitis was selected 35th overall, in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft by the St. Louis Rams on April 25, 2009.

  • College Football Career

    Laurinaitis began his college football career with the Buckeyes in 2005, playing in 12 games plus a bowl game recording nine tackles. He earned a starting spot in 2006, totaling 115 tackles and earning several awards including the Nagurski Award, as the best defensive player in college football, All-American and All-Big Ten. Laurinaitis' success continued on 2007, winning the Butkus Award, the Big Ten defensive player of the year, the Bill Willis Award for defensive MVP and team captain. He recorded a career-best 19 tackles during the game against the Wisconsin Badgers.
