James Gang

  • Guitarist/singer Joe Walsh joined the James Gang in the late 1960s (replacing previous guitarist Glen Schwartz) and in 1969 the band released their first record, entitled Yer' Album. After their 1971 live album, Walsh departed to start a solo career. Several replacements and lineup changes would follow, in addition to a handful of albums, but the James Gang was finished in 1976.

Many members of the James gang would go on to join other notable bands, some of which were far more successful: Walsh would join the massively popular band The Eagles; replacement guitarist Domenic Troiano joined The Guess Who; his replacement, Tommy Bolin, wound up playing for Deep Purple.

Walsh, drummer Jimmy Fox and bassist Dale Peters reunited for a James Gang tour in 2006.
