Christian psychologist and author Dr. James Dobson is the founder of the non-profit organization Focus on the Family. On February 27, 2009, Dobson announced that he was retiring as the chairman of the board of Focus on the Family, but would still play an important role in the group. Air Force Lt. Gen. Patrick P.
