  • Professional football fullback Jameel Cook has played in the National Football League for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Houston Texans. He was released by the Texans in August of 2008.
  • Football Career

    After playing football with the Illinois Fighting Illini in college, Cook was drafted 174th in the 2001 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He made his NFL debut that same year and went on to win the Super Bowl with the team in 2003. After five seasons with the Buccaneers, Cook signed with the Houston Texans in 2006. He was sidelined for the beginning of the 2006 with a knee injury, but returned for 11 games that year and all 16 games in 2007 before he was released.
  • Marijuana Charges

    On August 20, 2008, Cook was stopped by local police near Houston for no front license plate or registration sticker. Police found marijuana in Cook's car and he was charged with drug possession.
