Jamario Moon is the backup small forward on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Moon isn’t just an ordinary backup though, as his role for the Cavaliers is to backup one LeBron James. In doing so, Moon doesn’t always get a lot minutes, but he’s still an important player for the Cavaliers. LeBron James will get a lot of minutes, but when Moon is out on the court in LeBron's place, he’s expected to contribute. Jamario Moon is primarily a slasher, meaning his game consists mostly on driving and dashing to the rim. Still, Moon is always a slight threat from the three point line as well.
Moon’s ability to hit an open jump shot or finish off an alley-oop pass is the exact reason the Cavaliers went out signed him last summer. With LeBron James getting the majority of the minutes, whichever player is his backup has to bring something to the floor himself. Jamario Moon certainly is an added bonus for the Cleveland Cavaliers.http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jamario_moon/index.html
Jamario Moon Career
Jamario Moon has been a well-traveled player in the days in the NBA, but it seems that he may have found a bit of home in Cleveland. Still, Moon has played for more than just Cleveland. He’s had two stints with the Toronto Raptors and one with the Miami Heat. Neither team really had a fit for Moon in the way Cleveland currently does though. Both Toronto and Miami seemed to expect Moon to be a little more than he’s capable of being. Not so with the Cavaliers. All the Cavaliers need is for Moon to be able to stretch the floor with the three point shot and bring a high dose of athleticism on the wing.
Jamario Moon’s numbers and playing time have fallen off in Cleveland, but that’s because Moon’s now more of a role player than ever before. Jamario Moon has hopefully found his niche with the Cavaliers. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jamario_moon/index.html
